NStEP was delighted to team up with AISHE-J (the All Ireland Society for Higher Education Journal) to produce a Special Issue covering all things student engagement and partnership! After nearly a year in the works, the Special Issue is now ready to be read by all those interested in enhancing the role of students as partners in higher education!
In late 2020, AISHE-J and NStEP teamed up to plan the Special Issue, recognising that both students and staff across the higher education sector had plenty of good practice in student engagement and partnership that they could impart to others. A call for submissions to the journal was then issued in February 2021, and we were so impressed by the sheer volume that we received!
Overall, this Special Issue is AISHE-J’s biggest Issue to date, demonstrating what we already knew – that student engagement is a critically important part of Irish higher education.
As with any academic journal, submissions were peer reviewed by academic experts. NStEP was delighted to work with AISHE-J to recruit and train students who were interested in becoming student peer reviewers. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the student reviewers for their commitment to this project.
We hope that you will enjoy the Special Issue, and would especially encourage any readers who might like to submit an article in future of their own student engagement practices, to get in touch with the wonderful AISHE-J team!
