The 2020 Call for NStEP Student Trainers has opened! We are seeking enthusiastic, approachable and innovative students to join the NStEP team to deliver class rep training across the country in academic year 2020/21, advancing meaningful and authentic student engagement in Irish higher education. Student Trainers are a vital support to the work of NStEP in fostering a culture of partnership between staff and students, especially as higher education and wider society faces such uncertainty during the ongoing pandemic.
Currently NStEP delivers introductory training to hundreds of Class Reps each year, as well as training to postgraduate taught representatives. Online training is also offered, and this is expected to increase due to the pandemic.
Aside from delivering training, there will be ongoing opportunities for Student Trainers to work on student engagement issues and to support NStEP’s work in developing new practice and policy.
The work is flexible and compatible with study and other commitments. This is a great opportunity to develop your public speaking, facilitation and organisation skills.
Applications for the 2020/21 Student Trainer Pool have now closed.
